The Problem

The planter boxes are built on the main plaza deck on top of the underground parking garage. Due to age, the original coating over the cracked concrete planter box forms was allowing significant water penetration onto the cars below.

The Outcome

The soil was excavated and the interior of each planter box was cleaned. A synthetic rubber Hypalon liner was installed and mechanically fastened to the concrete. Several perforated drainage pipes were plumbed to the exterior to remove excess water from the soil. The entire box is now completely watertight and will last for 30 years or more without maintenance.

The new drainage system will eliminate this problem from ever reoccurring, and that’s guaranteed.
