Our Basement Waterproofing Process
The secret to our basement waterproofing success? Instead of relying on passive waterproofing, our system actively routes water away from your basement and foundation using sloped pipes leading to the sump basin and pump. Then, the addition of a dimpled drainage mat directs water where it needs to go – far away from your basement and foundation.
Saw cut and remove 18-inch wide section of concrete floor next to foundation walls.
Remove soil for drainage trench, sloping towards location of sump basin.
Install woven groundscape cloth in trenches and in sump pit to prevent clogging from soil movement.
Install perforated basin for sump pump.
Install rigid PVC pipe in trench, with 1/2-inch perforations facing down to allow lower entrance of groundwater into pipes.
Fill trenches and surround sump basin with washed drainage rock to stabilize surrounding soil and maintain easy flow of groundwater into perforated pipe.
Install sump pump with one way check valve on discharge pipe (to prevent water backflow into system).
Install dimpled drainage mat over trench and extend up foundation to above grade line.
Secure and seal edges and overlapping sections of drainage mat to seal entire system.
Install new concrete to match surrounding floor level.
